If you want a lion, go ahead and switch. Just remember, that you'll have to level it up again. And if you've got GW:EN, be sure to add your black widow to your HoM.

Pets arent all the same:
The prof bear attacks slightly slower Some pets do different types of damage However in the end they are essentially the same. Only thing worth mentioning is what you like more... I got a black wolf and love him, or a dune lizard which I had pre eotn. Also leveling any pet bar the rainbow pheonix isnt hard. Death levelling em with heroes is a sinch. |

That's what it says on the official wiki page. Black bears use a monster skill (Bestial Mauling) which deals no extra damage but has a casting time that slows their overall rate of attack. Don't use black bears... Edit: Doh, Luminarus beat me to it. Last edited by Riot Narita; Mar 25, 2008 at 10:39 AM // 10:39.. |

I personally recommend against the lion. The female is just a reskin of the Melandru's stalker- same sounds and all. The male I find disappointing in its look. Doesn't seem quite as regal as it should.
If you want an African looking pet though, you might consider the hyena. It's one of my favorites. |

You have alot of Pets to choose from, so it's pretty much all about personal taste imo.
Just have to keep in mind if you want to level them from lvl5/lvl15 or get a full grown lvl20, if you just want another lvl20 pet, i would suggest you give the black moa a try. |

Yeah, most pets are the same; the different damage they deal is either slashing or piercing. I had a black moa for a long while on my ranger just because of an old inside joke running in my previous guild .

My necro has a rainbow phoenix (the thing is huge and shiny! O_o) while my rit has a white tiger. Don't think my other chars have pets... might get one on each just for the fun of it . |

Well as most have pointed out by now all pets are the same except the type of dmg they do short of the black bear who does the adrenaline based atk brutal mauling. There is however a nice thing about the brutal mauling the black bear does most dont know but it does trigger paragon shouts/chants. If your running a paragon hero with you then its a worthwhile consideration to factor in. Button line is go with what you think is best. Oh and dont forget to do what that dude said if you have gwen then add the spider to your hall. hehehe goodluck with your pics bro.

As said before you can get whatever pet you want, it all depends on personal taste. On my ranger I have a dire croc as does all my ranger heros. I have a friend who has a lion and all his ranger heros have lioness.

PvE - doesn't matter.
PvP - Either R.Bow Phoenix to block opponent's view, or something short (spider, rat, lizard) to sometimes sneak in below their field of vision. |
